Negative Effects of the Internet Environment on an Individual

The article describes how using the Internet may cause such traits as loneliness, social anxiety and low self-esteem. The author goes on to discuss how online databases have affected the way people remember information emphasizing the growing trend of media multitasking that may lead to a greater risk of depression or social anxiety symptoms. The writer concludes that the high-pressure and fast-paced world of the Internet we are living in today may contribute to the increase of self-presentational motivation, loneliness or reduced working memory capacity.

On the Subject of Collective Attention

The article considers the problem of collective attention. The text opens with topicality, goals, problems and prospects of development. The first paragraph deals with some theoretical views of fundamentals knowledge, process and mechanisms of collective attention. The main content of the second paragraph is practical research results of famous authors. At the end of the article we make a conclusion and outline the areas of the future research.

Social-psychological Aspect of Media Culture Formation Organization: Problems and Prospects

The article focuses on the theoretical and practical importance of psychological research of media culture as an important part of organizational culture. The author analyzes media culture functions in the organizations and social and psychological effects of influence of media in this connection. The author emphasizes the need of research of phenomenology and media culture theory, and also development of the issues of practice of formation of media culture for in the organization. The author singles out some prospects of research of media culture within social psychology and media psychology.

Media as a Subject of a Philosophical Research

A person perceives information not in a direct way; otherwise all his or her knowledge would be limited and extremely poor. That is why a man has had an intermediary since ancient times. In Latin media is an intermediary, a mediator or something in between. Mediators are everywhere, due to them the humanity has reached all the things it has right now. 

But if we come closer, we will see that today we do not get information from mediators, we do get it through the prism of simulacrum intermediaries. In the age of globalization, numerous gadgets and all surrounding risks it is very difficult for a person to observe media. There is a special section in philosophy – media philosophy, although many scientists consider it as an independent research subject. This article will consider the influence of intermediaries on human life and the possibility and importance of media research as a philosophical research and interconnected science discourse.

Socio-Psychological Adaptation of International Students Studying in Russian Universities

The article discusses the problem of international student adaptation to living and studying conditions in universities abroad in terms of social, psychological, and cultural aspects. All studies show the same viewpoint: due to the increase of international student mobility in Russian universities, socio-psychological adaptation problem becomes burning and needs thorough research.

Historical Survey of Application of Music in Organization

This article is devoted to the examination of music application not as an artistic way for expression of human feelings but as a tool of managing working activities. The author shows a chain of historical events that lead to application of music: first, in manufacturing and industrial organizations and then in different types of trade and financial organizations. The research is aimed at drawing managers’ attention to the issue of improper music application that does harm to both members of an organization and their customers. The research also explains significance of the term “functional music”.

The Problem of Interpretation of Antiquity

The basic ideas are presented in the following works: Pierre Vidal-Naquet’s book ‘The Atlantis Story: A Short History of Plato's Myth’ and Michail Maiatsky’s ‘The Controversy over Plato: The Circle of Stefan George and the German University’.

We considered the way of understanding and researching into the ancient texts by authors who lived in different periods. We also analyzed the influence of their findings on the works published later. It is noteworthy that researchers used Plato’s dialogues like ‘Critias’, ‘Timaeus’ and ‘The Republic’ to show their vision of the philosopher’s ideas and to understand the present day world.

The article analyzes the problem of maintaining moral and spiritual health of a person or society. Many generations of people have been challenging that issue for centuries. The aim of the authors is not only to show possible solutions, but also to prove the significance of such an attitude to an individual.

The Evolution of Colour in Van Gogh's Art Work

Nowadays the paintings of the great postimpressionist Vincent Van Gogh are very popular. He is an extraordinarily talented artist with a hard path of life. Contemporaries did not accept Vincent, but now he is one of the most popular artists, his artworks being priced tens of millions of dollars. People from all corners of the world like Van Gogh’s paintings and drawings. They attract attention through a unique technique of applying paint, an interesting composition and, certainly, the choice of colours. The colour takes the most important partin his creation. No one remains indifferent of how Van Gogh expresses his feelings and attitudes by means of colour. The evolution of color in his artwork shows both professional and inward growth of the artist.
