THE ISLES OF SHOALS:  ETERNAL SOUND OF THE SEA
23 April - 9 May, Pontine’s co-directors, Greg Gathers & Marguerite Mathews, bring history to life onstage with their original production based on the legend and lore of the Isles of Shoals. The shoals have imposed themselves again and again on the imagination of New Englanders.  Their very oddity, in shape, name and topography, has increased the fascination of the Isles hovering on the horizon.  From the mainland they appear shadowy, almost fairy-like, in their dim outline.   Mr. Gathers and Ms.. Mathews use Toy Theatre figures, projected images, and shadow puppetry to tell the mysterious, romantic, and tragic tales of the Isles of Shoals.
