A. Opening preparation miscellaneous or structural steel, access panels, and finish or field painting are in the scope of work of other sections or trades.
Part 2 – PRODUCT
2.01 – Materials and Construction
A. Sections: Shall be 1-3/8" thick. Foam is pressure-injected into each section of the door to provide a unitized structure for maximum strength and "R" value. CMT-632, CMT-616 and CMT-610 interior and exterior faces are roll formed from commercial quality hot-dipped galvanized steel. Sections shall be finished as follows: CMT-632 shall have a 20-gauge flush smooth surface on the exterior face and a 26-gauge, wood grained embossed texture with V-grooves every 3" on the interior face. CMT-616 and CMT-612 shall have a 26-gauge, wood grained texture with small horizontal V-grooves every 3" on the exterior and interior faces.
B. Insulation: Sections shall contain a pressure-injected core of CFC-free polyurethane foam insulation to provide bonding to the interior surfaces of the interior and exterior face sheets (skins). To ensure maximum energy efficiency and strength, the foam is pressure-injected into each section of the door to provide a unitized structure for maximum strength and "R" value.
C. End Stiles: CMT-632 and CMT-616 shall be 16-gauge hot-dipped galvanized steel.
D. Intermediate Reinforcing: Shall be full vertical 18-gauge steel back-up plates, inserted prior to foaming, to provide reinforcing for attachment or various hardware, and pre-drilled for proper positioning.
E. Bottom Section: Shall have a full-length vinyl U-shaped flexible astragal weather-strip.
F. Thermal Break: All sections shall have an integral rigid PVC top, bottom and end caps to provide a full perimeter thermal break between the interior and exterior faces.
G. Header Seal: CMT-632 and CMT-616 shall be a vinyl top header seal, factory installed on the top section.
H. Finish Coat: CMT-632, CMT-616 and CMT-612 interior and exterior faces shall be rust proofed using hot-dipped galvanizing and pre-painted inside and out using a base coat of urethane primer. CMT-632 faces shall be pre-painted with a polyester top coat of white or brown on the exterior face and white only on the interior face. CMT-616 and CMT-612 faces shall be pre-painted with a polyester top coat of white, almond, bronze, brown, gray, hunter green or sandstone on the exterior face and white only on the interior face.
I. Windload Rating: Doors are built to meet or exceed standards established by ANSI/DASMA 102-2003.
2.02 – Counterbalance Systems
A. Spring Counterbalance: Shall be factory calibrated springs to match site specifications. Shall be helical torsion-type made from oil-tempered wire to provide a minimum of 10,000 cycles.
B. Spring Options: 25,000; 50,000 and 100,000 cycles.
C. Assembly: Shall be contained on a continuous steel shaft, retained in ball bearing brackets, with high-strength galvanized aircraft cable with a minimum of 7 to 1 safety factor.
2.03 – Track
A. Vertical Track: Shall be a minimum of 16-gauge galvanized steel tapered and mounted to provide wedge-type-sealing action (2" track or 3" track depending on door size).
B. Horizontal Track: Shall be a minimum of 16-gauge galvanized steel reinforced with a minimum of 13-gauge galvanized angles, as required (2" track or 3" track depending on door size).
